Our goal at The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry is to further the quality of patient care through multispecialty expertise. The Journal was founded in 1981 as the first scientific dental periodical dedicated to periodontics and restorative dentistry. With the almost immediate expansion into the field of dental implants, the need for combined restorative and surgical expertise together with treatment planning and synergy of care became even more paramount.
In 1983, Quintessence Publishing presented the first International Symposium on Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry (ISPRD) in Boston, Massachusetts. This landmark dental symposium brought together leaders in the field, with clinicians and academicians from around the world, to share knowledge and exchange ideas in a unique forum. The Journal and ISPRD have provided clinically impactful information for over 40 years. We are looking forward to the 14th International Symposium on Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, to be held once again in Boston from June 9–12, 2022. We have worked hard to plan a diverse program, including:
• Predicting Success in the Regeneration of the Periodontium to Save Natural Teeth
• Techniques to Maximize Esthetic Adhesive/Restorative Results
• Optimal Surgical Implant Esthetics
• Advances in Adult Orthodontic Treatment with a Mutli-Specialty Approach
• Prevention and Correction of Peri-implantitis
• Ceramic Technology: Zirconia or EMAX? Partial or Full Coverage?
• More Bone! Today and the Future: Vertical Bone Augmentation
• Treatment Planning the Complex Esthetic Challenge
• Biology for Loading Protocols for Dental Implants
• Maximizing Root Coverage: Micro and Macro Surgical Advances We hope you will start making plans for your visit to Boston. After a long year of pandemic isolation, we are all eager to meet our colleagues and share in the exchange of information in a scientific symposium. All presenters will participate in panel discussions after each session, allowing for interaction with the audience and a chance to challenge the concepts presented. The discussion panels allow for an exchange of information among the presenters and the expectation that presentations are evidence-based.
In addition, we are planning several hands-on workshops that we expect will be sold out early, so please register now if you are interested:
• Immediate Implant Placement and Provisionalization of Single Implants in the Esthetic Zone: Workshop for Beginners
• Fundamentals of Dental Photography
• Soft Tissue Grafting with the Tunnel Technique
• Peri-implant Diseases: Differentiated Nonsurgical Protocols
• Effective Periodontal Therapy: Diversified Protocols and Techniques for Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery Around Implants
We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Boston!
